In this interactive sculpture, materials representing the built and biological community disrupt the notion of the body while creating opportunities for bodily engagement. In gestures of communication, the pipe and vent transport air and produce low hums, audible when ambient noise is minimal. The assemblage functions on a bodily scale, with elements examining our place within the landscape of our ecosystem. In a delicately balanced vertical and horizontal dynamic, this artwork expresses the precarious nature and interrelatedness of the human and non-human within our ecosystem, consisting of the built environment, biological community, land, sea and sky.
