Oh, but who am I, where am I going
A water pipe balances precariously on a tree trunk. Anchored by a concrete block, the installation is an assemblage of metal mesh, metal and plastic tube, and tree trunk. Viewers engage bodily with materials in proportion, representing the built and biological community. The pipe and vent produce low hums, audible when ambient noise is minimal. In a delicately balanced vertical and horizontal dynamic, this artwork expresses the precarious nature and interrelatedness of the human and non-human within ecosystems consisting of the built environment, biological community, land, sea and sky.
