Bio

In conversation with materials, I explore our interconnectedness within biological and social communities. I am interested in the phenomenon of being in relation to the vast terrain of objects that have each followed a unique trajectory from the moment of the Big Bang, traceable as we all are, back to the dust of stars.

Working with steel, wire, branches, trees, rocks, AR (augmented reality) and video projection, I am a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist.

With degrees in art and biology, I explore what it means to be human within social and biological systems. My work navigates human-scale contexts of large systems so massively spread across space and time as to be considered hyperobjects. One of the challenges of this approach is to recognize our place within ecosystems as connected and important in every action we perform.

Negotiating concepts of how we are in relation to interconnected communities is to experience the fragility and wonder of the world.
